Creativity Collection - NIGHT
Something fun we have happening in the DFP Listed Photographers group is bi-weekly creativity challenges. Molly Menschel has been hosting these for us, and she is pushing our photographers to explore, think about process, and to dive deeper into other aspects of photography.
Every 2 weeks, Molly comes on live in the Facebook group and discusses a theme/prompt. From there, participants have two weeks (she suggests shooting every day during the 2 weeks) to go out and flex their creative muscles, and they are encouraged to share their work in the group. Then Molly hosts a group Zoom call where photographers can get on, share their work, talk about their process, any challenges they had, and any insights or thoughts they had while shooting. It also provides for some great discussion and a real sense of connection and community.
For the first creativity prompt, Molly invited photographers to explore places they know during the day, at night. To pay attention to how things look and feel different at night, how light falls in a different way, to the mood and ambiance, and to give themselves the gift of observing the quiet world at night.
Here is some of the lovely work the photographers made:
We are excited to see the way photographers interpret each theme or prompt, and to be able to share their work here on the blog.
